L’Amore Corto (Short Love) is an independent short film about the dreams and the challenges of a young Italian couple in NYC. Through the love story of Giulia and Lorenzo the movie wants to make consideration on important aspects of our contemporary time:
• the struggle of many talented young people to find a steady job and plan for their future,
• for an artist the frustration of having short film as the only expressive form within the reach of an independent productions,
• the issue of living in a foreign -beautiful- country,
• the relation between the expectations and the real possibilities of two young immigrants,
In few minutes L’Amore Corto tells us about all these things through the language of romantic comedy.
L’Amore Corto was made by an independent Italian crew based in New York: all people involved in this movie are Italians who live or have lived in New York.
In the Year of Italian Culture in the United States we want to support the idea of “Italianism” in the US mapping the places of the Italian people living in New York like I Trulli, Numero 28, Sfilatino Gourmet, Ribalta and Fabbrica Restaurant.
